A RICH HISTORY
Tracing my lineage back to the Mayflower is a remarkable connection to a pivotal moment in history. Two of my direct seed line ancestors, who were among the brave souls aboard the Mayflower, embarked on a perilous journey across the Atlantic in 1620. These early settlers faced immense challenges, from harsh weather conditions to the struggle for survival in an unfamiliar land. Their resilience and determination laid the foundation for what would become the United States. My direct relation to these individuals is a testament to the enduring legacy of courage and perseverance that has been passed down through generations, ultimately ending up in my lap. This historical connection not only enriches my personal heritage but also ties me to the broader narrative of America's founding.
One of my seed line fathers played a pivotal role in the creation of the Mayflower Compact, a foundational document in American history. As the Pilgrims faced the challenges of establishing a new colony, they recognized the need for a governing framework to ensure order and cooperation among themselves. This ancestor, with his deep faith and commitment to his faith in Christ, contributed significantly to drafting this Compact. His input helped shape its principles of self-governance in Christ, mutual consent, and adherence to a collective Biblical moral code. This historical act of service and leadership left an indelible mark on the early governance of the New World and stands as a testament to his enduring legacy of faith, community, and later, what the American people called politics.
THE FIRST CONSTITUTION
The Mayflower Compact is often regarded as a precursor to the United States Constitution. Drafted and signed in 1620 by the Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower, it established a framework for self-governance and mutual consent among the settlers. This Compact laid the groundwork for democratic principles, emphasizing the importance of a collective agreement to uphold laws and work together for the common good of believers participating in governing policies. Its influence can be seen in the later development of the US Constitution, which also emphasizes self-governance, the rule of law, and the protection of individual rights. The Mayflower Compact's legacy as the first governing document in the New World is a testament to the enduring values that continue to shape American democracy.
After discovering my roots in the writers of the Mayflower Compact, I found myself contemplating my own involvement in the ideologies of policy reform.
This profound connection to the early framers of American governance sparked a sense of responsibility and purpose within me. It underscored the importance of principled leadership and the enduring impact of well-conceived policies on society. Reflecting on my ancestors' contributions, I became inspired to engage more deeply with the process of shaping policies that uphold justice, equality, and the common good of the American citizens. This newfound perspective invigorated my commitment to fostering positive change and ensuring that the foundational truths upon which our nation was built continue to guide our progress.
MY JOURNEY INTO POLITICS
Being asked to share my story of growing up illiterate at a Senate luncheon was both an honor and a profound responsibility. It offered a unique opportunity to shed light on the challenges faced by those who struggle with literacy and to advocate for policies that support education and empowerment. By recounting my personal journey, I had hoped to inspire empathy and action among the politicians present, highlighting the importance of not allowing illiterate children to slip through the cracks of a broken educational system and the importance of ensuring that every individual has access to the resources they need to succeed.
Within a couple of weeks, I was approached by a Senator, asking me to be his personal advisor in his endeavors in policy reform. Making a long story short, this relationship led to many years of advising politicians, including, three Governors and two Presidents.
My journey has taught me the critical importance of authentic believers actively engaging in the political process to help shape policies that remain true to the United States Constitution. By bringing our founder’s values, integrity, and commitment to the common good within the political arena, believers can ensure that the foundational principles of liberty, justice, freedom of religion, and equality are upheld. Their involvement serves as a moral compass, guiding policymakers to create laws and regulations that reflect the core ideals upon which our nation was built. In these challenging times, the presence of genuine, principled individuals in the political sphere is essential to preserving the integrity and spirit of the Constitution.
As I approach 70 years of age, my commitment to assisting leaders in returning America to the organic faith and policies our founding members gave their lives for remains unwavering. This milestone in my life only strengthens my resolve to ensure that the principles our forefathers fought for will continue to guide our nation. By actively engaging with and supporting our leaders, I aim to uphold the foundational values that have shaped our country's identity and foster a society grounded in the enduring truths that have stood the test of time. My journey is far from over, and I am dedicated to contributing to the preservation and promotion of these core ideals for future generations.
FUTURE GENERATIONS
As I focus on looking five generations ahead, my commitment is to ensure that our country continues to uphold and assist the lives of its citizens with faith in Yeshua and to hold our leaders accountable to the people, and most importantly, to God.
This forward-thinking approach emphasizes the importance of nurturing a society grounded in enduring spiritual and moral values.
By instilling these principles in our future generations, we can create a legacy of integrity, justice, and compassion in Christ. It is my firm belief that a steadfast dedication to these ideals will empower our descendants to navigate the complexities of their time, building, or rebuilding, a nation that remains true to its founding principles and continues to thrive in faith and unity.
As a reader, it is imperative that you remain actively engaged in the political and spiritual process of sustaining our country's founding truths.
Your involvement is crucial in holding leaders accountable, advocating for policies that reflect our core values, and ensuring that the principles of liberty, justice, and indwelling faith continue to guide our nation. By staying informed, participating in civic duties, and advancing a community grounded in these ideals, you play a vital role in preserving the legacy of our forefathers and shaping a future that honors their sacrifices and vision. Your commitment to this cause is not just a responsibility but a powerful testament to the enduring strength of our nation's foundation.
